Short, honest, in everyday words — this is everything the site does and does not do with your information.
Effective date: 25 October 2026
FarooqStars — the website farooqstars.com and the FarooqStars apps — is run by FAROOQ MUGHAL (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED, a company registered in Pakistan (SECP CUIN 0357349). We decide what happens to the information described on this page, and we answer for it. For any question, request or complaint, write to contactus@farooqstars.com.
In short: charts are calculated on your own device; we keep only what you choose to give us, plus the few records described below; there are no ads, no tracking for advertising, and nothing is ever sold; and you can delete your account at any time, with or without signing in.
Charts, kundli and matching compute entirely inside your browser. Name, date, time and place of birth are not uploaded, and the site does not store them — they stay on your device, unless you yourself choose one of the three ways below.
The three ways, each only when you choose it: saving them in your account, making a share link, or asking for an AI answer — each one is explained below.
What stays on your device: the site keeps a few things in your browser’s own storage (or the app’s storage) — your language, the light or dark look, the birth details of the chart you made last, the state of pages such as «Compare places», and the place you allowed through GPS — so that you do not have to type them again. They are not sent to us, and we cannot see them. Clearing the site’s data in your browser, or removing the app, removes them.
Cookies: the site sets only one cookie, and only when you sign in — «fs_sess», which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Page scripts cannot read it, and signing out removes it. There are no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies. Only the Google and Apple sign-in buttons, where they are shown, come from those companies and follow their own rules.
If you make an account, the site keeps what you give it: your e-mail address, your name, your language and your password — the password never as it is, only in a scrambled form (a hash) that cannot be turned back. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive from them only your e-mail address, which they have already confirmed, and your name — no password and no contacts. The site also notes when the account was made, your last sign-in, and when you were last active. Why: so that you can sign in, see your chart and readings in your own language, receive the e-mails you chose, and keep your things in one place.
Only if you fill them in: a username, a few words about yourself, photos, links, a phone number, the city you live in, and the birth details of yourself and of the people you save (name, gender, relation, date, time and place of birth, and a short note). You decide who sees them, on your account page: your profile can be open to everyone, to members only, or private; your birth details and your chart stay hidden unless you open them to everyone, to members or to friends. Your phone number is never shown to other members. Other members can see whether you are online and when you were last active. Photos are made smaller and saved again, which removes hidden camera and location details from the file; a photo on your profile can be opened by anyone who has its web address.
If you take part in the community, the site keeps what you write and do there: posts, comments, likes, friend requests and friends, and the messages and pictures you send to other members — so that they can be shown to the people they are meant for. Posts and comments can be seen by others in the community; a message only by you and the member you write to. Messages are stored on our server and are not end-to-end encrypted. Every post and comment passes an automatic word filter; whatever it stops is read by a moderator before it can appear. If you report or block a member, the site keeps who reported or blocked whom, the reason and your note, so that the report can be dealt with and the block kept; the reported member is never told who reported.
The match (rishta) section is closed for now. Where an account made a match profile earlier, the site keeps what was filled in for it — for example family, education, work, income, height, marital status, religious practice and what is wished for in a partner — the name and e-mail of a guardian (wali) if they were given, and the interests sent and received. To make a match profile visible, a picture of an identity document with the name and date of birth was asked for; only the site’s checkers can see it, and it is kept only for a short time after the check (the site’s setting, now 7 days) and then removed. All of this is removed with the account.
Two pages send your words out of your browser, and only when you use them. On “Ask (AI)” the tick box “🤖 Also add a deeper AI (Claude) answer alongside the books” sends your question and the birth details of the chart (name, date, time and place of birth); “Tell your dream (AI)” sends the dream you write. They go to our server, and from there to an AI service, which writes the answer: Claude, the AI of the company Anthropic — or, if our server is set to use a backup when Claude is not available, Google Gemini, Groq or OpenAI. Our server keeps neither the question, nor the dream, nor the birth details: only a count for the 5 free answers a day and the cost of each answer, under a number that changes every day — not your IP address. Without the tick, “Ask (AI)” answers from the books inside your browser, and nothing is sent.
If you ask for the readings by e-mail, the site keeps only what the form asks for: your e-mail address, your name (if you give it), the language, how often, the system and the sign — and the dates of joining, confirming and the last e-mail. Nothing is sent before you confirm (double opt-in). At the bottom of every e-mail there is a one-click link to end your membership and a link to your own page where you can change your choices. When your membership ends, no more e-mail comes: your address stays on the list marked «ended» — that mark is what stops any further e-mail — until you ask us to remove it (write to contactus@farooqstars.com) or delete your account.
Other e-mails: the site sends the e-mails an account needs — confirming your address, a new password, deleting the account — and short notices (a friend request, a new message, a comment, a decision about your post). You can switch each kind of notice off on your account page. For every e-mail sent, the site notes the address, the kind, the subject, the date and whether it went out, so that faults can be found. E-mails go out from our own mailbox at our hosting company.
Reports as PDF (Compare places, the relocated chart, the Astro map): the PDF is made in your own browser. If you press «E-mail» while signed in, it is sent to your own address only — the server passes it on and does not keep it; the list of e-mails sent notes it like any other e-mail.
Astro map places: the places you add to «my places» stay in your browser. If you tick «Keep my places on my account», the list (place names and coordinates, at most 30) is kept with your account so you see it on every device; untick it to remove it. It is part of «Download my data» and is deleted with your account.
Learn astrology: the lessons work without an account and your progress stays in your browser. If you are signed in, the lessons you finished and your best level-exam scores are also kept with your account, so you see them on every device and earn badges. It is part of «Download my data» and is deleted with your account.
My report: when you are signed in, every birth report you make on «My report» is kept with your account (the birth details you entered, the chart facts and, if you asked for it, the text Claude wrote) so you can open it again from «My saved reports». You can delete each one there. They are part of «Download my data» and are deleted with your account. To write a Claude report, only the chart facts (planets, signs, houses, dates) are sent to Anthropic — never your name, e-mail or birthplace.
A count of visits: for each page opened, the page, the page you came from, the language, the screen size, the country, the kind of device, system and browser, and a visitor mark made from your IP address and browser that changes every day and cannot be turned back into either. No cookie is used for it. It shows us which pages are read, and it is kept for 2 years.
An access log — for security, to stop abuse and to find faults: for each page opened, your IP address, the country and city that the address points to, the page, the page you came from, the language, the screen size and your browser’s description — and, if you are signed in, your e-mail address and member number. Only the site’s owner can see it. It deletes itself after a set time, now 180 days.
A sealed security record: sign-ins, failed sign-ins, sign-outs, new accounts, deletion requests and deletions — each with the e-mail address, IP address, country and browser — and the actions of the site’s own staff. It is built so that no one, not even we, can change or delete a line of it, so it is kept permanently, also after an account is deleted. It is there to protect members and the site, and to show what really happened if something goes wrong.
A few outside services are needed to run the site. Each one receives only what its job needs — and, when your device talks to it directly, your IP address, as with any website:
Nothing else. The little country badges, the icons and the country we guess for you are all worked out on our own server. There is no analytics company, no advertising network and no social-media tracker on the site.
The site carries no ads and no tracking pixels, uses no advertising ID, and does not follow you across other sites or apps. Your information is never sold, never rented, and never shared for advertising. It goes to no one except the services listed above, for the job you asked for — or to an authority, if the law of Pakistan obliges us. That is our promise.
You can delete your account at any time — inside your account page («Delete my account», confirmed with your password), or without signing in, on the page «Delete your account», through a link sent to your e-mail (the way to use if you sign in with Google or Apple). Deleting is permanent. Removed at once: your account, profile and photos, saved charts and people, posts, comments and likes, messages in both directions and their pictures, friends, blocks, your match profile, guardian details and interests, identity documents, the reports you made, share links, e-mail subscriptions, the list of e-mails sent to you, and the lines of the access log with your e-mail address. Kept, and why: the sealed security record (by design it cannot be changed, and it protects members and the site), and reports other members made about misuse (for their safety). To have only an e-mail address for readings removed, without an account, write to contactus@farooqstars.com.
You can change your mind at any time. E-mail notices: switch each kind off on your account page. Readings by e-mail: one click on the link at the bottom of every e-mail. GPS: say no, or take the permission back in your browser or phone settings — you can still type a city by hand. AI answers: simply leave the box unticked, and do not use the dream page. Who sees your profile, birth details and chart: your account page. Saved people, photos, posts and share links: remove them yourself. Signing out ends the session on that device.
You can see and correct most of your information yourself on your account page. You can also ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, to correct or delete it, or to stop using it for something: write to contactus@farooqstars.com from the address of your account, and we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the data protection authority of your country. Using these rights never changes how we treat you.
Pages travel over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as hashes. Page scripts cannot read the sign-in cookie, and every session ends after 30 days at the latest. An account works only after its e-mail address is confirmed. Repeated attempts to sign in, register or send are limited. Identity documents are kept in a closed folder outside the public website. Only the owner, and helpers he names for a single task, can open the site’s administration. No system is perfectly safe; if you notice a weakness, please write to us.
FarooqStars is not meant for children under 13, and they should not make an account. The site does not ask your age. A young person from 13 up to the adult age of their country should use an account only with a parent’s permission. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it; a parent can write to us to ask for that. A parent may of course keep a child’s birth details among the saved people of their own account.
To complain about a post, comment, message or member, press «Report» beside it; for anything else, use the Complaint center page. Every complaint gets an e-mail at once to say it has arrived, and a person reviews it within 24 hours. The member you report is never told who reported them. For a copy of your data, press «Download my data» on your account page: we e-mail you a link that works for 48 hours while you are signed in. To delete your account, use «Delete my account» on the same page, or the account deletion page.
We are in Pakistan. Our server is run by our hosting company and may be in a different country from yours, and the outside services listed above work from other countries, such as the United States and countries in Europe. So your information may be stored and used outside your country, where the law can differ. We send each service only what it needs, and the rules on this page apply wherever your information is.
When what the site does with information changes, we change this page first and put the new date at the top. If a change is important — for example a new kind of information or a new outside service — we say so clearly on the site and in the app before it applies.
If you have a question about your information, want a copy, a correction or a deletion, or want your e-mail address removed from our list completely, write to us — we answer every e-mail.
